I fished with Brian two times in 2009. Both times were under extreme conditions. The first time the weather was hot and humid. Brian said there would be no problem catching slabs in 2 to 5 foot of water! I’ll be honest and tell you I never thought we’d catch Crappie that shallow in hot weather, but we did. We ended up with 41 slabs that day and many were over 2 pounds.

The second time was July 4th. If you know Oklahoma weather, then you know July 4th is usually a scorcher! But this time the sky was overcast and opened up on us shortly after getting on the lake. The wind switched directions and I was sure we were done for the day. But despite the adverse conditions, Brian once again put us on the slabs!

I don’t think you’ll find a more friendly, knowledgeable, outgoing fishing guide willing to go the extra mile for you than Brian!

I fished with Brian last June and had a great time. He showed me several new techniques on how to locate and catch Crappie, including Spider Rigging. I’d never done Spider Rigging and was anxious to see how it was done. I was able to take what Brian taught me and use those techniques to catch Crappie year round on my own! I’ve used his techniques on several lakes and they work where ever I fish.

Oh, and I also came home with a cooler full of Crappie fillets. Brian even cleaned my catch!

• Now Guiding On Ft. Gibson Lake Also!

  Fort Gibson Lake in Oklahoma is fast becoming a great fishery for Trophy sized Black Crappie. The lake record Crappie is 3.7 lbs!! The one before that was 3.5 lbs! Many experts attribute this in part to the size and creel limits the State of Oklahom instituted on Ft. Gibson years ago. What ever the reason, those Black Crappie are getting big on Ft. Gibson! C'mon and let's go get some!
